Hola Amigos! I have a friend going to learn Spanish in Madrid next week and I am feeling jealous sitting here at home and studying for my accounting exam!
I have been exploring many options for working overseas, other than teaching English in South Korea. I had a look at visa’s for Australian’s around the world and there is a fair few. A few of the options are:
- Spain for 12 months
- France for 12 months
- The old plan of teaching English in South Korea for a year
I am thinking at this point that I will complete my TEFOL as a backup and then decide when I am travelling through Europe where I want to go next.
Other options which are of less appeal to me are:
- UK for 24 months
- US for 24 months
- Japan for 6 months

These are for under 30’s. Over 30’s may find it a little harder.
I have been very busy studying for exams and submitting assignments, but made time for a trail ride on Cleveland Bay Awareness Day. Cleveland Bay’s are the breed of horse that I ride and train for a stud in Perth, Australia. They are beautiful, sound, trainable horses, especially my favourite gelding ‘James’.
I am 8 days away from finishing work and am very excited, although I have a lot to finish before then. On my list of things to do when I finish are:
- Start my TEFOL
- Play with some clothing design. I always come back to this and would love to start an environmentally and socially sustainable clothing label one day, but at this point am experimenting with techniques.
- Participate in an environmental project of some sort. I have not had time for this lately so it will be nice to put some of my skills to good use. The Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) are doing some great work, so I will contact them.
Every time I plan to relax I remember all of the things I would like to do. I find it hard to sit and do nothing, with all that there is to achieve and explore.
